September is one of our favourite times of year in Burlington, Stoney Creek, and the surrounding Hamilton area. The warm days aren’t quite gone, the evenings are getting cooler, and the first signs of fall are starting to appear.
It’s also a busy month for local events. From Burlington’s famous waterfront Ribfest and family circus performances to live music, local markets, and fall activities, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the community.
At Wynwood Renovations, we’re proud to work, live, and renovate homes throughout Burlington, Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Oakville, and the surrounding communities. Here are some of the events we’re looking forward to this September.
Canada’s Largest Ribfest
September 4–7, 2026
Spencer Smith Park, Burlington
One of Burlington’s biggest traditions returns to the waterfront for Labour Day weekend — and this year marks the 30th anniversary of Canada’s Largest Ribfest.
Expect award-winning barbecue, live entertainment, midway rides, face painting, vendors, and plenty of activities for kids. Spencer Smith Park also provides the perfect backdrop, with beautiful views of Lake Ontario right beside the festival.
Whether you’re going for the ribs, the entertainment, or simply the atmosphere, Ribfest is a classic way to wrap up summer in Burlington.

Royal Canadian International Circus
September 3–7, 2026
Burlington Centre, 777 Guelph Line
The big top returns to Burlington with the Royal Canadian International Circus.
The 2026 production features international performers, flying trapeze, high-wire acts, unicycle performers, the Motorcycle Globe, quick-change artists, hula hoops, and plenty of classic circus excitement.
It’s an especially fun option for families looking for something different to do over the Labour Day weekend.
Supercrawl Hamilton
September 11–13, 2026
James Street North, Hamilton
Just a short drive from Stoney Creek, Supercrawl transforms James Street North into one of the region’s biggest celebrations of music, art, food, and culture.
The free three-day festival brings together live music, visual art installations, fashion, theatre, dance, artisan vendors, food trucks, family activities, and more.
If you’ve never experienced Supercrawl before, September is a great excuse to explore downtown Hamilton and support local artists, musicians, makers, and businesses.

Enjoy the Beginning of Harvest Season
September is also the perfect month to start enjoying everything that comes with fall in Stoney Creek, Winona, and the surrounding Hamilton area.
Local farms and markets begin filling up with Ontario apples, pumpkins, baked goods, fall décor, and seasonal produce. It’s a great time to spend a Saturday or Sunday visiting a farm, picking up something local, and enjoying the cooler weather.
Keep an eye on local event calendars throughout the month for pop-up markets, harvest events, and family activities.
Explore Royal Botanical Gardens
Burlington & Hamilton
Early fall is a beautiful time to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens.
With cooler temperatures arriving and the landscape beginning to change colour, September is ideal for walking the trails, exploring the gardens, birdwatching, and spending a few hours outdoors with the family.
Check the RBG calendar before visiting for seasonal programs, guided activities, and special events happening throughout the month.
Spend an Afternoon on Burlington’s Waterfront
You don’t need a festival to enjoy September in Burlington.
Spencer Smith Park, Brant Street Pier, and the downtown waterfront are especially beautiful as summer transitions into fall.
Grab a coffee downtown, walk along the waterfront trail, stop at the pier, visit a local restaurant, or simply find a spot by the lake to enjoy one of the last warm evenings of the season.
It’s one of the simplest — and best — ways to enjoy Burlington.
Explore Stoney Creek’s Farms & Wine Country
September is harvest season, making it a great time to explore the rural side of Stoney Creek, Winona, Grimsby, and Niagara.
Take a drive along the escarpment, stop at a farm market, visit a local winery, pick up fresh Ontario produce, or make an afternoon of exploring the area.
It’s easy to forget just how quickly the city turns into countryside once you head east of Stoney Creek.
Make the Most of September
September gives us the best of both seasons — the energy of summer with the first signs of fall.
Whether you’re enjoying barbecue beside Lake Ontario, taking the kids to the circus, listening to live music at Supercrawl, visiting a local farm, or simply taking an evening walk along Burlington’s waterfront, there’s plenty happening close to home.
